We are pleased to announce the June 4th, 2015 launch of the Remembering Oak Ridge Digital Archive and Exhibit, now available at https://historyexhibit.waypointcentre.ca

The site presents a history of Oak Ridge, the only maximum-security forensic hospital in Ontario for 81 years. Over 400 digital copies of artefacts, historic photographs, archival documents, and media files are available as part of the site. There are likewise nine interpretive exhibits highlighting the establishment of the division, the building in which it was housed, the different treatment practices that were implemented, and the daily routine between 1933 and 2014.

Over the next year we will continue to grow the site, with plans to add additional patient voices from the archival record and oral history interviews with former staff and volunteers.
